Children experience life events in different ways. They attach meaning to those events helping them to move through that specific event and into their next experience. Sometimes the event may not seem so monumental but the meaning attached to it can be. I work with many children who have experienced life changing events ranging from a minor social disturbance in school to major emotional or physical trauma. I refer to these experiences as little “t’s” and big “T’s” for trauma. Children can cope with these events by isolating, acting out, or developing alter egos to help with the pain. I help my clients process through these events by using EMDR Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Aroma Therapy and traditional Talk Therapy.
